Building the foundations for Taiwan–Ireland collaboration
A year of dialogue, institutional engagement and practical exchange
Medtex developed the Taiwan–Ireland Biomedical & MedTech Collaboration Programme by bringing together institutions around shared priorities and securing support for individual activities. Each forum, discussion and visit contributed to a wider effort: helping Taiwanese and Irish organisations understand complementary capabilities and identify ways to work together.
What Medtex brought to the programme
A connected view of the innovation ecosystem
Programme milestones
We linked research, applied engineering, manufacturing and clinical expertise to create a programme relevant to the needs of Taiwanese institutions and companies.
Relationships that make engagement possible
We brought institutional leaders, researchers and technical teams into focused exchanges, aligning participants and discussion topics around potential areas of collaboration.
Continuity from introductions to follow-up
Our work connected proposals, preparation and delivery with continued engagement—helping participants develop institutional relationships and more specific technical conversations.
May 2026 — Biopharmaceutical capabilities
An online exchange connected Taiwanese audiences with Irish Manufacturing Research and NIBRT, opening discussion around Ireland’s biopharmaceutical capabilities and cross-border collaboration.
June 2026 — Understanding the MedTech ecosystem
A panel with CÚRAM, ARC Hub for HealthTech and Enterprise Ireland explored Ireland’s MedTech ecosystem and opportunities for Taiwan–Ireland cooperation. Ethan Huang moderated the discussion.
July 2026 — Bringing the dialogue to BIO Asia–Taiwan
Medtex and MIRDC co-organised the Taiwan–Ireland Innovation MedTech Collaboration symposium at BIO Asia–Taiwan, with the Department of Industrial Technology, MOEA as organiser. Ethan contributed a presentation and moderated the panel.
September 2026 — Connecting research, engineering and industry
Medtex organised a three-day professional programme for a 12-member Taiwanese delegation, linking University of Galway, ATU/MET Gateway, Irish Manufacturing Research, University College Dublin and Teckro across Galway, Mullingar and Dublin.
The programme connected institutional discussions with technical demonstrations, facilities visits and practical exchange, giving participants access to different parts of Ireland’s biomedical innovation ecosystem.
MIRDC–ATU collaboration — Building an institutional relationship
Medtex helped deepen the relationship between MIRDC and ATU by connecting institutional and technical counterparts, aligning cooperation priorities and supporting the development of a framework for continued collaboration. The engagement brought research services, professional training, talent exchange and joint development into a shared discussion.
From exchange to opportunity
The delegation generated focused follow-up topics in technical training and manufacturing applications. These included catheter development training and the potential use of optical inspection for medical-device quality control. Medtex helped connect the relevant needs and expertise and maintain the dialogue after the visits.
